One of TEMBUSU Asia Consulting’s (TAC) services in the built environment sector is to assist clients with structural check and design, followed by application of TOP and CSC when the work is completed.

TOP & CSC

TOP refers to Temporary Occupation Permits, it is issued by BCA to certify that the project is near completion with some minor outstanding work, but the building is safe to be occupied. As for CSC or Certificates of Statutory Completion, it is issued by BCA to mark the full completion of the project based on the authorities’ requirements. For smaller projects, the developer may choose to skip the TOP and apply for CSC directly when the project is completed.  

For this project, TAC acted as a Qualified Person (QP) of the project. Design check was performed on an erected steel shelter. TAC also proposed some modification structural work and made submission to various authorities for approval. Finally, TAC provided supervision during the construction phase of the modification work and application for CSC after the modification work was completed.

In performing this service, TAC contributed to SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, which includes promoting safe and secure working environments for all workers and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
