Course Overview
This course equips professionals to design and operationalise circular, zero-waste systems by establishing a firm foundation in the transition from Linear to Circular Economies. Participants will first explore fundamental concepts of material flow and waste systems before deep-diving into the Singapore Waste Management context, including specific regulations, initiatives, and mitigation policies.
The programme provides practical guidance on implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks across diverse waste streams—such as food, packaging, e-waste, and hazardous materials—positioning EPR as a key tool within a broader circular strategy. We address critical local and regional challenges, including vendor governance, resource recovery technologies, and the integration of relevant Singaporean environmental policies.
A robust data and reporting module links waste management to carbon footprints (Scope 3) and global sustainability disclosure frameworks. Participants will learn to align reporting with the GRI Standards (Waste) and the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, ensuring robust measurement through circular metrics. The course concludes by defining the Roles of the Company as a corporate citizen, culminating in a capstone roadmap that aligns operational gains with strategic ESG outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
