  • Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) Advisory for Industrial Solutions Provider in Singapore

Home / Projects Projects Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) Advisory for Industrial Solutions Provider in Singapore May 12, 2021 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was appointed to provide Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) advisory services for a total industrial solutions provider based in Singapore. This Client deals with the packaging of imported goods that are sold both locally and overseas. The MPR was introduced as part of the nation-wide waste management policy to kickstart Singapore’s trajectory towards Circular Economy. This policy has brought businesses’ attention to waste resource management and solutions, such as preparing a waste management approach, measuring 3R (Reducing waste, Reusing and Recycling resources) performance, and navigating associated risks and circular opportunities. The project scope includes guiding the Client through the challenges of meeting requirements set out in the MPR policy and providing advice on how to prepare the necessary information required for the report submission. Through this service, TAC supports our Client in their transition to circularity, a crucial step towards preventing the worst effects of climate breakdown and resource scarcity. Previous Back Next

  • EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore

Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore January 19, 2022 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by a client to provide Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) services for the development of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station and tunnels in Singapore. This interchange station will be part of the upcoming Cross Island Line that will connect eastern and western Singapore and serve as the alternative to the existing East West Line. As the CRL will be fully underground, the EMMP services for this project put more emphasis on physical aspects of the environment such as soil and groundwater quality, ground-borne noise, and vibration. During the pre-construction stage, TAC developed a detailed construction EMMP framework that outlines appropriate mitigation and management measures to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, fauna, and flora) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. The Construction EMMP framework would serve as the basis of all implemented mitigation measures throughout the construction stage. TAC would then assist the client in assessing the conformance of their activities with EMMP requirements. Our services will ensure that the CRL interchange station and tunnels are developed in an environmentally sustainable manner and contribute to our efforts in fulfilling SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. • EMMP Services for Communication Systems Installation at Mandai, Singapore

Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for Communication Systems Installation at Mandai, Singapore June 10, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was engaged to provide environmental consulting services for installation of a communication system in several sites at Mandai. These sites are part of the Mandai Rejuvenation Project (MRP), which covers 35.4 hectares. The MRP is adjacent to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve which is known to be ecologically sensitive. Hence, TAC’s role as an environmental consultant is critical in ensuring that the installation works do not adversely affect sensitive fauna, particularly due to the generation of noise and dust. TAC’s team of ecologists and environmental consultants recommended measures to be implemented and conducted regular site visits to ensure the measures are effective in reducing the impacts. Throughout the project duration, the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. Our services enabled our client to conduct their project in an environmentally sensitive manner, thus moving towards fulfilling UN SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 15: Life on Land. #SDG11 #SustainableCitiesandCommunities #SDG15 #LifeOnLand Previous Back Next

  • Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore

Home / Projects Projects Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore May 20, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) developed several Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) for projects across Singapore. These projects include the redevelopment of a recreational park, the construction of ticketing booths, and the reinstatement of land. EMMPs aim to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, animals, and plants) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. TAC first identified the surrounding sensitive receptors and conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). TAC then outlined the necessary measures to minimise potential impacts on the environment. These include measures to protect biodiversity and maintain regulatory standards for air quality, water quality, and noise. To ensure that the measures were implemented, regular site visits were conducted and the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. One of the projects was in close proximity to coastal and forested habitats which host biodiversity. One mitigation measure to minimise disturbance to the swiftlet colony located nearby was to potentially avoid major works during the swiftlet breeding season. Overall, the effective implementation of EMMPs ensured that the projects were carried out in a sustainable and environmentally-sound manner. #EMMP #SDG11 #SustainableCitiesCommunities #SDG15 #LifeOnLand #EIA Previous Back Next

  • Greenhouse Gas Verification Services for a Power Generation Company

Home / Projects Projects Greenhouse Gas Verification Services for a Power Generation Company July 31, 2024 All Projects, Carbon & Sustainability On February 2022, Singapore’s Finance Minister Lawrence Wong announced during the Singapore Budget 2022 that the city-state will raise its carbon tax to S$25 per million tonnes of CO2 equivalent (mtCO2e) in 2024 and 2025, from its current value of S$5/mtCO2e. The amount will progressively increase to S$45/mtCO2e in 2026 and 2027, and S$50 to S$80/mtCO2e by 2030. This move represents one of the largest government-mandated carbon taxes to finance its decarbonisation efforts, create a regional carbon marketplace, and bring forward its net zero emission deadline. The carbon tax will be applied on emission-intensive facilities that directly emit at least 25,000 mtCO2e of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission annually. Companies registered as a taxable facility may utilise high quality international carbon credits to offset up to 5% of their taxable emissions from 2024 onwards. Under the Carbon Pricing Act (CPA), industrial facilities are required to comply to the Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) requirements to determine the amount of GHG emissions annually. To do so, facilities must submit a Monitoring Plan and an Emissions Report and engage an NEA-accredited third-party verifier to verify the accuracy of the Emissions Report and implications of GHG control measures. One of Singapore’s largest power generation facilities approached TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) to conduct its MRV and verify their reckonable GHG emissions as indicated in their Emissions Report. The scope of MRV includes extensive desk analysis on data collected during the reporting period, and physical inspection of the facility’s emission streams and sources. TAC also conducted in-depth analysis on the facility’s quality management framework and data management system to substantiate the claim made by the client. TAC then submitted an endorsed Verification Plan Summary and Verification Report to NEA for verification once the MRV has been conducted, as required. This project highlights TAC’s commitment to fulfil 3 of UN SDGs, SDG 7: Clean and Affordable Energy, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action. Previous Back Next
