Home / Projects Projects Specialist Consultancy Services for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) at the east of Singapore May 15, 2025 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was appointed to provide EIA consultancy services for a future residential area at the east of Singapore. The general development area and its surrounding habitats, consisting terrestrial vegetated area, mangrove habitat, and intertidal habitat, span about 36 ha. The objectives of this project are to describe the baseline conditions of the study area , ; to identify and assess the nature and extent of the environmental impacts arising from the development , ; and to propose and justify effective mitigation measures to minimise environmental impacts on sensitive receptors. TAC’s services provided include identification of terrestrial, freshwater and marine flora and fauna species found in and around the site. Using the collected biological and physical data, including ambient noise quality assessment, groundwater levels measurements, water quality assessments, sediment quality assessments, as well as conducting a hydrodynamic modelling study, TAC is able to evaluate the potential impacts on sensitive receptors and propose an environmental management and monitoring plan to mitigate these impacts. #SDG11 #SDG14 #SDG15 #biodiversity #ecology #EIA Previous Back Next

- Environmental Impact Study (EIS) For A Proposed Hotel Development Project In Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Environmental Impact Study (EIS) For A Proposed Hotel Development Project In Singapore December 30, 2019 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TAC is appointed to conduct an Environment Impact Study (EIS) for a proposed hotel development project that is located next to a petrol station. Per National Environmental Agency requirements, any new development sited within 50m of a petrol station needs to conduct an EIS to assess for potential environmental impacts arising from activities at the petrol station. The petrol station operation generates various impacts related to vapor fumes, odor, and noise. Vehicle movement for refueling and the presence of repair & maintenance activities on-site may cause noise impacts. Other activities, including bulk fuel transfer, storage tank venting, and motor vehicle filling, may also deteriorate the air quality and create environmental impacts on hotel development. The EIS will monitor levels of vapor fumes and noise to assess the potential impacts of petrol station activities on the proposed hotel development. The EIS report will provide recommendations to reduce impacts concerning the air quality and noise to acceptable levels as required by relevant environmental standards. Previous Back Next
- Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore May 20, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) developed several Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) for projects across Singapore. These projects include the redevelopment of a recreational park, the construction of ticketing booths, and the reinstatement of land. EMMPs aim to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, animals, and plants) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. TAC first identified the surrounding sensitive receptors and conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). TAC then outlined the necessary measures to minimise potential impacts on the environment. These include measures to protect biodiversity and maintain regulatory standards for air quality, water quality, and noise. To ensure that the measures were implemented, regular site visits were conducted and the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. One of the projects was in close proximity to coastal and forested habitats which host biodiversity. One mitigation measure to minimise disturbance to the swiftlet colony located nearby was to potentially avoid major works during the swiftlet breeding season. Overall, the effective implementation of EMMPs ensured that the projects were carried out in a sustainable and environmentally-sound manner. #EMMP #SDG11 #SustainableCitiesCommunities #SDG15 #LifeOnLand #EIA Previous Back Next

- EMMP for construction of Transport Link to Malaysia
Home / Projects Projects EMMP for construction of Transport Link to Malaysia April 9, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was awarded an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) project for the construction of LTA viaduct and tunnels for the transport link that will connect Malaysia and Singapore. The scope covers the development of a detailed construction EMMP framework during the pre-construction stage, outlining the mitigation and management measures for all environmental aspects to ensure that the proposed works do not adversely affect the environment surrounding the project site. In addition, a biodiversity management plan will be prepared along with a reporting system to monitor the implementation of the EMMP. A biodiversity awareness training will also be provided prior to construction activities to train the personnel on the ecological sensitivity of the site. Given that the project is located within a forested area, TEMBUSU Asia will provide support for monitoring the environmental aspects during the construction stage, especially on biodiversity issues. Environmental monitoring is a critical tool for assessing the effectiveness of EMMP and all recommended mitigation measures. This will help to mitigate the adverse impacts generated from the project’s activities, leading to the environmentally sustainable implementation of the development. Previous Back Next

- Specialist Consultancy Services at a Residential Development in the Northern Part of Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Specialist Consultancy Services at a Residential Development in the Northern Part of Singapore March 25, 2025 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology A recent housing development adopted an integrated approach to transform a forest in Northern Singapore into a dynamic living space. Leveraging on ecological and environmental expertise , TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was appointed to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and develop an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) for the site. A core conservation area was identified to be retained due to its rich biodiversity and the presence of a stream flowing through a freshwater swamp. TAC revalidated the existing EIA to minimise negative impacts to the flora and fauna that might be caused by the construction work. A comprehensive EMMP was implemented during both infrastructure and building phases to ensure compliance to mitigation measures. Monthly fauna surveys were also conducted to monitor the changes in biodiversity around the site. To improve the environmental knowledge of key personnel, trainings were held on certain biodiversity topics such as the species found in the project site, the significance of biodiversity protection, and strategies to minimise human-wildlife conflict. TAC’s multi-disciplinary services have supported the client in creating a sustainable urban development while fulfilling the SDG goals of sustainable cities and communities and life on land. #SDG11 #SDG15 #biodiversity #ecology #EIA #EMMP Previous Back Next
