Home / Projects Projects Environmental Risk Analysis study (Aspect-Impact Assessment) for a Berth construction project in Singapore December 7, 2021 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by a client to carry out an Environmental Risk Analysis (ERA) study for Berth construction project at one of the Singapore’s ports. The project is conceived as green and sustainable development and required to achieve Green Mark (GM) certification. As part of the GM certification, Environment Risk Analysis (ERA) study is to be conducted to ensure that environmental impacts associated with the project are considered and environmental Aspects and Impacts of products/activities are determined at an early stage. TAC will examine work activities, potential inputs (raw materials, chemicals, and utilities) and outputs (products, wastes produced, recycled materials, water discharges, and air emissions) and assess relevant impacts such as soil contamination, air pollution, noise health effects, and ecology impacts. As an outcome of this ERA study, TAC will develop an Aspect-Impact Assessment Register which will highlight the significant environmental aspects and will recommend mitigation measure to address them. Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore January 19, 2022 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by a client to provide Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) services for the development of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station and tunnels in Singapore. This interchange station will be part of the upcoming Cross Island Line that will connect eastern and western Singapore and serve as the alternative to the existing East West Line. As the CRL will be fully underground, the EMMP services for this project put more emphasis on physical aspects of the environment such as soil and groundwater quality, ground-borne noise, and vibration. During the pre-construction stage, TAC developed a detailed construction EMMP framework that outlines appropriate mitigation and management measures to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, fauna, and flora) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. The Construction EMMP framework would serve as the basis of all implemented mitigation measures throughout the construction stage. TAC would then assist the client in assessing the conformance of their activities with EMMP requirements. Our services will ensure that the CRL interchange station and tunnels are developed in an environmentally sustainable manner and contribute to our efforts in fulfilling SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Home / Projects Projects Environmental Services for the Reconstruction of a Water Treatment Plant in Singapore August 26, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was engaged to provide environmental services for the reconstruction of an existing water treatment plant in western Singapore. The plant is surrounded by important biodiversity, including birds and mammals of conservation significance inhabiting the forests, and rare aquatic fauna inhabiting the streams. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be carried out during the design stage. The EIA work includes the establishment of baseline conditions within the study area via field surveys of environmental aspects including biodiversity, water quality, air quality and noise quality. The collected data would be analysed to assess the environmental impacts associated with the project site based on the proposed development plan. Given the importance of the site for biodiversity, the preparation of an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) with recommended mitigation and monitoring measures will help to mitigate the adverse impacts generated during the construction stage and will lead to the project implementation in an environmentally sustainable way. TAC will also support the Client during the construction stage in overseeing the implementation of EMMP and reporting requirements. Home / Projects Projects Flood Analysis Due Diligence Services for the Proposed Development in the North of Singapore March 10, 2022 All Projects, Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was awarded the contract to conduct an independent flood risk assessment for the Proposed Commercial Building Towers and Basement and Data Centre in the North of Singapore. TAC shall verify the design and assessment criteria based on Singapore’s Codes of Practice (return period, platform levels, climate change impacts, etc). TAC shall also carry out a review and site analysis of the internal and external drainage and hydraulic design, designed platform levels, drainage strategies and conduct further site vulnerability assessment to identify potential flood risk to the site and basement levels. TAC shall combine its multidisciplinary strength and capabilities in water resource planning, regulatory compliance, and due diligence services to present its findings and recommendation on possible ways to enhance flood proofing measures over its intended service life span. From 2009 to 2018, he was the Divisional Director of Corporate Planning at Sentosa Development Corporation, which is the government agency that develops and manages Sentosa as an international leisure and tourism destination. His accomplishments included developing and implementing the Sentosa Sustainability Plan along environmental, social and governance dimensions; integrating Sentosa’s future land-use with key strategic drivers such as guest experience and sustainability; and formulating a long-term visitorship model. His passion for sustainability traces back to the early years of his career, notably when he received the NYAA/HSBC National Youth Environmental Award in 1998 for integrating environmental sustainability as a prominent focus in his projects. Some of the distinguished projects which Khairudin spearheaded include the development of hotel and common facilities as part of King Bay Development in Hainan Island, China, and proposal for the 116-unit Setia Tropika cluster housing in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Home / Projects Projects Validation & Verification Plan Review for an Oil and Gas Company December 13, 2022 All Projects, Carbon & Sustainability In Singapore, the carbon tax is set at a rate of $5 per tonne of GHG emissions (tCO2e). To achieve our climate ambition, the carbon tax will be raised to $80/tCO2e by 2030. Hence, companies are making their effort to improve their energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. An international Oil and Gas Company has engaged TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) to review and endorse their Measurement and Verification (M&V) Plan for the application of the Resource Efficiency Grant for Energy . As part of the process, our client is required to submit a verified pre-validation and post-verification plan for quantifying the carbon abatement delivered through the project implementation. Our client seeks to reduce their power and fuel consumption by installing a piece of additional equipment to debottleneck the capacity, thus increasing their efficiency while reducing carbon emissions at the same time. TAC’s services include reviewing M&V plan by conducting validation and verification through rigorous risk assessments, data collection, review of documentary evidence, and interview sessions as well as producing the validation and verification report. She has 5 years of experience in project management involving banking and consulting sectors. Exposure to these sectors has enabled Chloe to acquire skills in accounting & finance, regulatory reporting, stakeholder & vendor management, operations and project management.
