Home / Projects Projects “Waste Management and Countermeasures Against Marine Litter” Training Course for Japan – Singapore Partnership Programme for The 21st Century (JSPP21) September 24, 2021 All Projects, Capacity Building TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was awarded the contract to design and develop a 5-day training program on Waste Management and Countermeasures against Marine Litter for the Singapore Cooperation Program (SCP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the Japan – Singapore Partnership Program for the 21st Century (JSPP21). Combining waste management knowledge and experience, TAC introduced a series of lecture sessions, group discussions, case studies sharing and simulation games and activities for 21 participants working in the environmental and marine ministries from 7 different countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Papua New Guinea. The program provided the participants with a better understanding on waste issues and sustainable waste management best practices from Singapore and Japan in both the land and marine environment. Through this course, participants learnt and understood the challenges and severity of consequences of marine litter and gained insights on possible solutions using circular economy approaches, emerging technologies, social efforts, and policy making to solve these waste problems. Using its multidisciplinary strength and capabilities in waste resource planning and management, TAC successfully delivered a practical and holistic perspective for the participants on waste and marine litter, as part of our efforts to fulfill SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 14: Life below Water. Home / Projects Projects Master Class on Project Finance, Financial Modelling, and Public–private Partnership August 6, 2019 All Projects, Capacity Building TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) will be conducting a 2-days workshop on PROJECT FINANCE, FINANCIAL MODELLING, and PPP (Public-Private Partnership) on 13th and 14th August 2019 at the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Center. Jointly organised by SBF and Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES), this course outlines the basic principles in PPP contracts, Project Finance fundamentals, and Project Finance Modelling techniques for beginners. It provides an overview of Project Finance terminology, terms, and references used by project stakeholders, owners, consultants, contractors, stakeholders, lenders, and investors. The hands-on modelling session offers a basic toolkit for project management personnel to translate engineering inputs into making economic sense. The workshop will also provide the attendees with a deeper understanding of how project finance modelling can be used to manage covenants in project finance contracts and hence the core foundation skills to better negotiate with project lenders and investors. Home / Projects Projects EMMP for Marine Structure Construction in Western Part of Singapore April 23, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was appointed to advise on the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) for the construction of a Near Shore Outfall structure and associated Gabion structure for a plant in the western part of Singapore. The scope of the project focused on the monitoring and management of surrounding seawater quality with specific recommendations and mitigation measures outlined in the EMMP document. Moreover, a monitoring and reporting mechanism was set up to assess the effectiveness of recommended mitigation measures. The EMMP will help to mitigate any adverse impact generated from the project’s activities on seawater quality, resulting in overall benefit to the marine biodiversity of the surrounding area. Home / Projects Projects Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for an industrial development in north-western Singapore May 6, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was commissioned to conduct an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for the land clearance of an industrial development in north-western Singapore. The scope of this EIS includes a biodiversity study to establish the ecological baseline of the project site, an assessment of the impacts of land clearance on the environment, and the recommendation of appropriate measures to mitigate these impacts. TEMBUSU Asia will also conduct biodiversity awareness training to brief key personnel on biodiversity issues pertaining to the project, including species found at the project site, the importance of biodiversity conservation, and ways to avoid human-wildlife conflict. We believe that by working with and providing sound recommendations to the Client, we will be able to help minimise adverse impacts on the surrounding natural environment for the duration of this project. Home / Projects Projects Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) Advisory for Air-Conditioning Solutions Provider in Singapore December 20, 2021 All Projects, Carbon & Sustainability TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by an air conditioning solutions provider to provide advisory services in fulfilling NEA’s Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) requirements. The regulation requires affected companies to report their primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging which have been put into the Singapore market. This will help to lay the foundation for Singapore’s transition towards an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for packaging waste management by 2025. TAC will assist the Client in understanding reporting requirements, provide a method of collecting and presenting packaging data, recommend strategies and solutions in creating a packaging 3R plan, and meet NEA submission requirements. This project showcases TAC’s efforts in assisting businesses in transitioning towards circular economy, thus establishing a zero-waste nation in Singapore and fulfilling UN SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production. Home / Projects Projects Consultancy Services for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System for a Condominium November 1, 2021 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was engaged to conduct a feasibility study for installing a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for a condominium. The work includes assessing existing electrical systems and structural loads for the solar PV system installation, study financial viability and rates of return, developing of tender specifications and supporting the client in the bid evaluation. The solar PV system will allow residences to enjoy shared facilities which are powered by green energy, reducing their carbon footprint. In line with TAC’s mission to assist client in meeting their UN SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, this project will allow client to play a part in fighting climate change contributing to Singapore Green Plan 2030’s target to have at least 2 GWp of solar deployment by 2030 and strengthening Singapore’s commitments under the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Paris Agreement. Home / Projects Projects Sustainability Reporting Advisory for a Palm Oil Company Listed in Singapore Exchange February 25, 2022 All Projects, Carbon & Sustainability TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was engaged to assist a palm oil company in developing its Sustainability Report for FY2021. The palm oil company has plantations in Indonesia and focuses on the cultivation of oil palms; the processing of fresh fruit bunches into palm oil, palm kernel oil, and palm kernel cake; and the provision of bulking as well as logistics services. On 15 December 2021, Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced its requirements for issuers to provide climate-related reporting based on the recommendation of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and disclosures on board diversity. All issuers must now provide climate reporting on a “comply or explain” basis in their sustainability reports from the financial year commencing 2022. With TAC’s experience in both SGX and GRI’s requirements for sustainability reporting, TAC assists our clients to build business resilience by anticipating potential climate-related issues, leading to the development of action plans and hence fulfilling SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production and SDG 13: Climate Action. Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) suggests limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius to mitigate climate change. To achieve this threshold, carbon neutrality by the mid-21st century is essential. While large organizations are urged to transform their business to become net-zero, it is impressive to see an SME voluntarily demonstrates its commitment to climate actions. The scope of work included reviewing and verifying carbon inventory prepared by the client.
