The scope of the BIA included conducting baseline flora and fauna surveys, assessing likely impacts from project activities, and recommending general mitigation measures to address these impacts. Through an understanding of the environmental conditions of the site and the flora and fauna species present around the proposed development, habitat enhancement strategies to attract native biodiversity to green spaces within the development were also recommended. The institution appointed TAC to investigate the resultant state of the concrete strength and to conduct the strengthening works. A non-destructive test and petrographic examination were carried out and recommended the application of the fiber wrap method to strengthen the affected structure. Given the institution’s operational consideration, TAC proceeded to enhance the strength of the affected structure by using the fiber wrap method as the least disruptive method of repair.     Home / Projects Projects Specialist Consultancy Services for a Proposed Residential Development July 3, 2023 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) embraced an integrated approach to transform the forest at Yishun into a dynamic living space by realising the full potential of using natural waterways as part of the region’s holistic beauty. TAC’s team of wildlife, ecology and environment professionals were responsible for conducting a biodiversity study to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment. With the site being a forested zone housing a rich diversification of species, a portion was designated to be kept as part of a nature park area. TAC recommended measures to ensure that future infrastructure and development works would not adversely affect sensitive fauna, particularly due to the generation of noise and dust from work activities. Trainings were also conducted on the biodiversity issues pertaining to the project, including species found at the project site, the importance of biodiversity conservation, and ways to avoid human-wildlife conflict to spruce up the environmental awareness of key personnel. Our services enabled our client to conduct their project in a manner that is sensitive to our fauna biodiversity, thus moving towards fulfilling UN SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 15: Life on Land. This Client deals with the packaging of imported goods that are sold both locally and overseas. The MPR was introduced as part of the nation-wide waste management policy to kickstart Singapore’s trajectory towards Circular Economy. This policy has brought businesses’ attention to waste resource management and solutions, such as preparing a waste management approach, measuring 3R (Reducing waste, Reusing and Recycling resources) performance, and navigating associated risks and circular opportunities. The project scope includes guiding the Client through the challenges of meeting requirements set out in the MPR policy and providing advice on how to prepare the necessary information required for the report submission.     Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore January 19, 2022 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by a client to provide Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) services for the development of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station and tunnels in Singapore. This interchange station will be part of the upcoming Cross Island Line that will connect eastern and western Singapore and serve as the alternative to the existing East West Line. As the CRL will be fully underground, the EMMP services for this project put more emphasis on physical aspects of the environment such as soil and groundwater quality, ground-borne noise, and vibration. During the pre-construction stage, TAC developed a detailed construction EMMP framework that outlines appropriate mitigation and management measures to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, fauna, and flora) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. The Construction EMMP framework would serve as the basis of all implemented mitigation measures throughout the construction stage. TAC would then assist the client in assessing the conformance of their activities with EMMP requirements. Our services will ensure that the CRL interchange station and tunnels are developed in an environmentally sustainable manner and contribute to our efforts in fulfilling SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.     Home / Projects Projects Retention Design Check for Steel Shelter for Employee Rest Area June 24, 2024 All Projects, Urban Resilience One of TEMBUSU Asia Consulting’s (TAC) services in the built environment sector is to assist clients with structural check and design, followed by application of TOP and CSC when the work is completed. TOP & CSC TOP refers to Temporary Occupation Permits, it is issued by BCA to certify that the project is near completion with some minor outstanding work, but the building is safe to be occupied. As for CSC or Certificates of Statutory Completion, it is issued by BCA to mark the full completion of the project based on the authorities’ requirements. For smaller projects, the developer may choose to skip the TOP and apply for CSC directly when the project is completed. For this project, TAC acted as a Qualified Person (QP) of the project. Design check was performed on an erected steel shelter. TAC also proposed some modification structural work and made submission to various authorities for approval. Finally, TAC provided supervision during the construction phase of the modification work and application for CSC after the modification work was completed.     Home / Projects Projects Feasibility Studies at Mandai Mangroves and Mudflat May 23, 2019 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting together with our partners were awarded the consultancy services for feasibility studies at Mandai mangrove and mudflat by the National Parks Board. Being one of the last few remaining mangroves and natural shoreline of Singapore, the future 72.8 ha park shall seek to preserve its ecological condition with minimal disturbance to the site’s ecosystem and biodiversity. Mandai mudflat is an important place for the birds with its rich grounds of molluscs, crustaceans, and worms during the low tide while the birds roost at the adjacent Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. The consultancy services comprise of the ecological study and survey of the existing site, hydrodynamic and ecological modelling, to the planning and design of the 72.8 ha park. An Environmental Impact Assessment will also be carried out to mitigate any possible impacts for the park development. This park will also serve as an important green node at the northern part of the Railway Corridor as well as part of the eco-discovery corridor in the Park Connector Network’s Round Island Route. This annual inspection is a requirement of the Gas (Supply) Regulations to ensure no leakage or corrosion to the gas installation and that gas supply remains safe. Upon completion of the annual inspection, a Certificate of Fitness will be issued if the gas installation is found to be in good operating condition. This is the third consecutive year that our Client engages us in this service, and we are pleased to be able to deliver satisfactory and quality services that remain consistent through the years.     Home / Projects Projects Greenhouse Gas Emission Verification for Textile Manufacturer September 15, 2022 All Projects, Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was appointed to provide Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission verification for a vertically integrated textiles and apparel manufacturer who has operations in Malaysia, Cambodia, China, Vietnam, and Jordan. Our GHG verification will support our client’s sustainability strategy and their upcoming application for a Sustainability-linked loan (SLL). GHG emissions reduction was identified as the Sustainability Performance Target (SPT) for the SLL and it is a requirement for the GHG emissions baseline to be verified by an independent third party. The scope of work involves reviewing and verifying the client’s Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions for 2019 and 2020 in accordance with ISO 14064-3:2019. A verification report with verification statement endorsed by TAC will be submitted to our client. Through this service, TAC supports our clients in transitioning to low carbon economy and strengthen their resilience in meeting SDG#13: Climate Action.
